From a very young age, our brains are like sponges picking up on messages all around us that start to dictate how we perceive the world we live in. Some of the beliefs might support us while others simply sabotage us. The most challenging aspect about this is developing the awareness and discernment regarding the habits that are serving us and those that are not. That is the first step towards cultivating new behaviors.
Another tricky piece is that so much of how we show up is dictated by our subconscious thoughts. We carry around so much baggage that we aren’t even familiar with! Worse yet, some of it doesn’t even belong to us. An exciting new field in science right now is epigenetics, which is helping us understand how ancestral trauma can be manifested in our lives. That means that you could be living out certain patterns that not only date back to your parents, but possibly your grandparents and beyond! So we want to have the tools that help us clear these blocks that might be diminishing our full potential in the present moment.
I believe that many of us experience stress and suffering because we have forgotten how to ground ourselves and tap into who we truly are at the core; that limitless energy that is connected to universal source. It’s easy for us to get caught up living life from the neck up (trust me, I know!). That cuts us off from accessing an infinite power that wants to move through us – if we allow it.
I want to invite you on an exploration of Mindfulness-based Modalities that will help you reconnect with your highest self and source energy.
Experience a taste of the following:
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program. In 1979, Jon Kabat-Zinn founded the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts to bring a form of meditation known as mindfulness into the medical mainstream. Mindfulness is a basic human quality, a way of learning to pay attention to whatever is happening in your life that allows you a greater sense of connection to your life inwardly and outwardly. Mindfulness is also a practice, a systematic method aimed at cultivating clarity, insight, and understanding.
You will be introduced to MBSR through experiential activities.
Breathwork: Breathwork is a term used to describe several practices that use the conscious control of breathing to influence a person's mental, emotional and/or physical state, with a claimed therapeutic effect. Breathwork dates back to the ancient Hindu practice of yogic breathing known as Pranayama, which translates in Sanskrit to “breath control.”
You will experience a 30 min breathwork session– this is so powerful!
Energy Healing: You will have an opportunity to experience how you can clear energy that is not working for you and how to program energy to support you in having an experience that aligns with your desire.
I will share some tools you can use.
